More Pictures.
This was taken at the official opening in October 2000.
The assembled throng includes our local councillor (who cut the ribbon),
officers from the licensing and environmental health depts at the council,
the builder, Helen's parents and others.
This former cowshed, which had been used as kennels, has now been completely refirbished and the stonework restored.
The door and big window area is now the office. The kitchen is through the smaller window to the right.
To the right again is a tiled porch - the main entrance to the Cattery. The internal walls have been taken back to the stone in this area.
This also leads to a utility area, which houses the central heating boiler with airing cupboard, storage areas and an old stone
sink for washing litter trays.
To the left of the picture, out of sight, the old cattery is intact.
The upstairs will now provide five holding cubicles - never again should we have to
refuse a booking because of a 1 or 2 night overlap problem.
The downstairs block will be used as isolation when necessary and will, in a year or two,
be refurbished properly as two isolation units.
This is the new kitchen
We put a new window in the back wall which looks across the goat paddock and on to Risca and the hills above.
Just out of sight to the right is a large dry/wipe board with all the cats/cubicle details
and a door through to the utility area and cattery.
